Root Canal

A root canal is a simple treatment that can save your natural teeth and prevent the need for a dental implant or a bridge.

A root canal becomes necessary when the pulp within the tooth becomes infected. This can be caused by trauma to the tooth, deep decay, cracks and chips, or repeated dental procedures on the tooth. Symptoms of the infection can be identified as a visible crack or damage to the tooth, swelling of the tissue near the tooth, sensitivity to temperature or pain in the tooth and gums.

Your dentist will decide on what type of restoration is necessary to protect your tooth after a root canal is completed.
